lecture series

i remember last year or forever or whatever we talked about having a lecture series where we all taught each other about something that we knew about because we all know about such cool and different things. and i was getting my presentation ready for today and was like i want to email it you so you guys can see what i've been doing, but then i was like NO lets have a lecture series! we can have wine and cheese and just get together and teach other the great things that we know. so get excited. its happening.

hype machine

so i have been trying to think of a good post for a while. here it is:

basically this is a website that compiles every song anyone has posted somewhere on the internet. you can search by artist or title. when you find a song you like, click go to the post. people either have the songs ready for you to just download by clicking, or if the song opens up as a quicktime page, just go back and click the song link with the option key held down and it will download as an mp3. this is the best way to get free music on internet, no lame limewire giving you viruses and whatnot.

worth it

i know that everyone is not into celebrity gossip but you all have to go to the nearest convenience store/barnes and noble/wherever you can find us weekly to read the lindsay lohan "i am so alone" story because the quotes that are online do not do it justice it is the most intense ridiculous thing i have ever read. so do it. (except grace because i was so intrigued that i highlighted my favorite parts and mailed it to you. duh.)

wasp-mimic moth

family: sesiidae. order: lepidoptera.

the waxy and transparent scales of this sesiid moth simulate the membranous wings of the wasps they mimic. special interlocking spines link the hind and forewings together, allowing for behaviorally stylized flight characteristics that simulate a wasp in flight. lepidoptera means "scale-wing." the amazing variety of designs on the wings of butterflies and moths are achieved through various piigments, structures and shapes of the tiny wing scales.
