i don't think i can ever wear or like anything fur ever
ok so this is a video that shows really graphic footage of animals being killed an skinned for their fur. it's really horrible and depressing. i have to say that i am really against fur now no matter how soft it is. because this is pretty horrific. i didn't even watch the entire thing because it was too upsetting. so don't even feel like you ahve to watch it, especially if you have some fur things and you want to continue to love them. i almost wish i hadn't seen it. it's that bad. but ia m posting it anyways.

Did you all see this?
Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn Monroe. Topless.
All I can say is that her hips are tiny.

Monthly Poetry
I wrote these two years ago by request of Anders Bjornberg for a planner he made. Now, by request of Grace, I am re-printing them.
Keep in mind, this was more than three years ago. I wrote these when I was still living in New York, a long time ago (I was younger).
January
Colds and the flu lurk everywhere
Avoid handshakes, doorknobs, and daycares
Actually, better just stick it out in the basement
February
Fuck this fucking month
With its fucking Hallmark day and a sky that is grey
Luckily for us, it is absrudly short
March
According to the professors, MTV, and deans
It is time for a break--don't forget the sunscreen
When you get back you will be filled with regret and chlamydia
April
Out come the bicycles and baseball mitts
And the frozen, long-lost piles of dog shit
Pets are suck assholes
May
Sit back unwind and enjoy a job well done
Finally a chance to put down the gun
Now where's that fucking latte?
June
Don your tennis whites and call your dad
Set up a match with Jennifer and Brad
Afterwards you can drink lemonade and laugh in their faces
July
In which best friends are born
And have birthday celebrations with trophies and popcorn
Enjoy every last second of it
August
Cicadas and tigerlilies take over the world
In the middle of the night guts are hurled
Geez, maybe you should think about rehab
September
Take a day off work and then start school
Keep waiting for the season of Yule
You won't get anything good this year anyway
October
Time again for sweaters and dog-walking
Be ready when Batman and Nixon come knocking
Remember though, it's still not cool to hand out poison apples (or regular apples)
November
There is nothing else to do
But eat and eat and eat and eat
And nap
December
Take a few moments to remember with a solemn heart
Then forget again and plot your wish-list on a flow chart
Dead soldiers aren't that important

Chickens and More
Anna and I met the chickens the other day. Soon we will be doing chicken chores and learning how to process (grade/candle) eggs. Also, we can raise chicks from the eggs if we want because there are roosters in the flock (one of them is really great and looks like David Bowie. I can't remember the breed name but he looks ridiculous.)
Also, today Anna, Laura and I listened to the guy from Ames farm give a talk. He says now is a great time for young people to be getting into agriculture. So our plan is to get some land in upstate New York, pick a product to grow/make, have a bed-and-breakfast/agro-tourism. Initially we are thinking about goat products, primarily cheese but maybe butter and ice cream; the pro to this arrangement is that goats are great and funny but the con is that you can't leave goats alone and go on vacation. Maybe we can have interns.
