american apparel
hey guys
so i am with laura and we are talking about all of the items that american apparel has been carrying recently (besides clothes) like dr bronners soap and those orange rhoda graph paper notebooks. we are going to start a new game called WHAT WILL THEY DO NEXT and everyone can guess what american apparel will sell next to its demographic (aka us). so post your guesses!
p.s. as you all know my thesis centers on aa and i was just on a tour of the factory where they told me about aa's next new store idea which is american apparel vintage select— aa buys vintage fabric and clothes and resews/modifies them to fit aa styles of clothing and sells the "vintage" stuff in the stores. so far they only have vintage select stores in la, paris and berlin. ...... uptown next?!?

Mark Your Calendars
Two Items:
1. This Halloween, we (Grace, Laura, and Julie), and hopefully all of the rest of us, are dressing up as "the farm." We will be going to a bar, or possibly a house party, dressed as animals; two to a costume (think horse front and back) on tandem bicycles. We will remain anonymous all night long.
2. Next summer will be the first annual "Rooster Retreat." We will vacation for an extended period---possibly two weeks--at a cabin or beach house somewhere. Or maybe Webb Lake.

louis
louis (friend of me and jane) is working for this furniture designer. louis and i talked about him for prob an hour over dinner...he is this amazing japanese man who is really cute, and humble. his stuff isn't exactly my style, but still beautiful.

first day of work.
i will not be posting a picture of my first day of work because you cant see my ensemble. but when i first go to a focus group or presentation and have to look super business casual with less of an emphasis on casual i will take a picture and post it. and it will be great.
